All About ME |
I am a graduate of University of Delaware. My teaching career started in the Colonial district with student teaching experiences at McCullough Elementary School in fifth grade, and at Pleasantville Elementary in first grade. After graduating, I began teaching in 1999 at Thomson Estates Elementary School in Elkton, Maryland. I taught third grade for most of my years there, with one year in first grade. In December of 2005, I began teaching second grade at Pleasantville Elementary. In February of 2016, I graduated with my master's degree in teaching and learning from Wilmington University.
I have been a resident of New Castle, DE all my life. My husband, Michael, works as a chef. I have two children, Hannah and Sam. They both attended Pleasantville for K-5. Sam is in seventh grade at Gunning Bedford Middle School. Hannah is in ninth grade at St. George's Technical high School. We have a dog named Sadie. We LOVE to go to all kinds of restaurants together. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, and I have read all 7 books many times. One of my favorite places to visit is Disney World. I have been there 7 times! I also love to visit Hawaii, where Mr. Barbas's brother and my twin nephews live. Over the last two years, I have started making and decorating cakes. I have made a Lord of the Rings cake, a Frozen cake, a Minecraft cake, a Gravity Falls cake, a Tsum Tsum cake, and two Harry Potter cakes. I am really proud of what I have learned to do!
